Class 5 Coal Mining Museum

Class 5 had a fantastic trip to the National Coal Mining museum last week. We spent the day imagining we were a child miner in the Victorian times. In role we met a 5 year old boy who had just started working down the pit and he told us his story. The children also had opportunity to carry out the work of hurrying and carrying the coal in a science investigation to see how much money they could earn. Lastly we went down the pit to experience the darkness and find out more about what life would have been like.
