Build It 2017

Some children across Year 4, 5 and 6 had a great time at the ‘Build It’ Day at Kelham Island Museum in Sheffield. They were set the challenge of constructing a building for a seaside town, creating a mode of transport and a fairground ride. The children selected the hospital from a random choice of buildings at the start of the day and decided an ambulance would be their accompanying mode of transport. The idea for a ferris wheel followed shortly after and they set to work! The children were able to use a vast array of exciting materials to create their items but had to choose carefully as everything had to be paid for using only a small number of vouchers. They worked extremely well as a team and were able to build circuits, craft buildings and use glue guns sensibly. At the end of the day they presented their work to the Mayor of Chesterfield who was very impressed with their creations. I’m sure you’ll agree that the finished products are absolutely fantastic! Well done ‘Team Build It!’
